Install a window to your Green Shack

Install a window to your Green Shack

For security purposes, a Green Shack doesn’t have windows. If you want to install one or two, you can. Before you start you must remember that the construction and the walls of the Green Shack are weak, so installing a heavy and big window isn’t an option. You must find small and light window. The next step is to cut the part of a wall, where your window will be placed. You can use a jigsaw or anything you have similar. Measure twice, but cut only once. Don’t cut too big, the size of the ‘’hole’’ you are making must be the same as the size of the window.

Put the window in the place and fix it. Make sure it is parallel with the floor and the edges of the Green Shack. If you make a mistake you will have a window that looks like it is going to fall out.  If yours Green Shack is made from wood, you can use nails in order to ‘’connect’’ your window with the rest of the wall. If it is made from metal, you can use a special foam that will simply said glue the window.

The next step is to check are there any air leaks. In order to check this, you can use a candle or lighter. Light the candle and move it near the edges of a window. If you see that the flame is moving, you have an air leak. You can use a silicone or filler in order to fill that gap and solve the problem.
