China Pledges To Cut Down On Its Emissions
Over the years, there have been numerous calls made by various environmental groups for developed to reduce the amount of emissions that they actually make. One of those that environmentalists have been paying a very close eye on is China. As a country, China is ranked among the countries that emit lots of Carbon Dioxide to the atmosphere but that might soon change as the country is looking at ways in which it can be able to cut down on its emission. With that in mind, China recently announced that it will making some drastic changes with regards to emissions.
On June the 30th, China submitted they pledge to cut down on emission to the United Nations formally. In the pledge, China have also stated that they are keen on boosting supplies of renewable energy by 2030 to levels of its emissions. The recent move by China follows up their agreement with the U.S. that it made in November 2014. In the agreement, China agreed to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that it actually emits on a yearly basis. China also went on to pledge that it is planning on producing 20 percent of its energy via resources that are non-fossil. It also plans on expanding its forests and all this is an attempt to ensure that they are able to capture some of the carbon dioxide gas that is in the atmosphere.
This particular news has been well received by various environmentalist groups that have been calling for China to cut down on their emissions for years now.
