New Forest Protection Deal By UN Will Protect Ecosystems
The forest protection scheme supported by the United Nations will be on fast track soon. The global climate deal’s important component will have clear path soon after a meeting of governments in Bonn soon. The nations will sign many deals related to it soon. Whole world is expecting positive outcome for the environment in the upcoming Paris summit.
The Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (Redd+) program will be added in the Paris pact this December and representatives from all the governments are giving positive response to the same. Yaw Osafo, Envoy from Ghana informed that everyone received something as per the expectation. He was representing African nations on board. The deforestations are reducing Earth’s capacity to absorb green house gases and killing the diversity. The draft text will become an agreement in December but United States official said that he is very happy due to this big development ahead of the summit.
The protection of present greenery will be ensured due to the deal. All policy pundits, activists, diplomats and UN officials have been working since last ten years to make it a reality. Guidelines about reduction of emissions from forests, especially in the developing world are present in the deal. This deal is just not going protect trees and animals but also help in protection indigenous people and various forest resources. In the past, many forest protection initiatives killed the daily livelihood of many communities and they didn’t even receive any type of compensation for the same. The agreement has taken every stake holder into account.
