The Coca-Cola Foundation Has Pledged An Additional $35 Million For Its Water Initiative
The coca cola company, one of the biggest companies is making Africa a better place especially for people who lack the access of clean water.
Water is life and we all need it to survive, dirty water brings dangerous water-borne diseases which normally end the life of a human being if not treated. The coco cola Africa foundation has pledged an additional US $ 35 million to support pan –African safe water access and sanitation programs for 4 million more people by 2020.
The new funding is committed to bringing safe water access to 2 million people across the African continent by the end of 2015. The funding hopes to improve the lives of as many people as possible. The project is targeting to improve water situations for at least 6 million people in Africa.
Drought striking areas will benefit more from these projects. Many people in different areas have been wishing and wishing for rain everyday day but no luck still, their crops are dying every day and this makes their bad situation worse. RAIN and its partners have announced programs that will protect watersheds, provide sustainable safe water access and create new opportunities for women and youth entrepreneurs in Africa by the end of 2020.
Coco cola are reinforcing their progress through programs and partnerships focused on safe water access, women’s economic empowerment, job creation, and community well- being. The company is investing in the future progress and prosperity of the African people and economy. Dr. Susan Mboya, president of the coca cola Africa foundation said that they are reinforcing the incredible progress made to date with their many partners and they are pledging to do even more.
